Clear commands, efficient steering, race execution, practice management
I am a student-athlete who thrives on technical precision and high-pressure leadership. My background as a middle school sculler gives me a literal 'feel' for the boat, which I use to bridge the gap between the coach's plan and the rowers' execution. I am seeking a college program that matches my drive for both academic excellence and championship-level rowing.
Selected from a national pool to cox the RSR Elite Boys squad in Summer 2026. My focus is on mastering the physiological demands and technical cadence required for high-performance men’s shells to bring a more versatile, authoritative command back to the Women’s Varsity Squad.
I was proud that our boat executed a strong race, finishing 4th and qualifying for Nationals! Especially so as this was the first time our boat was racing together due to canceled events.
The lack of practice showed in a weak start where we struggled with timing. Being behind right away threw the boat off but I helped the team regain composure and maintain strength through the rest of the race.
My tone shifts were effective and I successfully called more moves on the fly to adjust the race plan in real-time.
Heading into Nationals, I'm working on focusing our boat on an internal tech goal when next to another crew and improving my steering to better handle cross-winds and minimize course corrections.
